- Any rule regulation newly introduced by KPK U.E.T /Pakistan Engineering Council Islamabad / GIST Peshawar or HEC will supersede. These rules lay down by the GIST in their prospectus in regards to the Admission Criteria, Syllabus, teaching and examination policy and will be Applicable and Acceptable to all the student of GIST enrolled, their parents and management of GIST.
- There are two semester in each academic year.
a. Fall semester
b. Spring Semester
- The full course of studies comprising on four year (eight semesters).
- Each semester of study comprising on 18 weeks. One full semester have two parts. At the end of each part of semester, after 9 weeks study, there will be a Mid Term Exam and after 18 week study, there will be a Final Term Exam.
- A full degree course should be completed from 4 years to 7 years, otherwise the Pakistan Engineering Council will not register such students who fail to get degree in 7 years.
- The full degree course is of maximum 128 to 140 credit hours. The one credit hour mean, one theory lecture or 3 hours of Lab/ Workshop. The practical course is considered as a separate course.
- The project is done in the 7th & 8th semester (4 contact hours in each semester)
- Eligibility of a student for the University Exams will be calculated on the following basis:
a. Assignments, Quizzes, Oral Exams,
Class participation, Project 25% Marks
b. Mid Term Examination 25% Marks
c. Final Term Examination 50% Marks
- Practical Examinations:
a. To perform the practical works in the labs
b. The Practical Exams will be only Viva Voce of 50% marks
